Kyowa Hakko USA, New York, NY, has regretfully announced the death of Yoichiro Sugimura, senior director of Scientific Affairs and Business Development for the company. Mr. Sugimura joined Kyowa Hakko (Japan) in April 1991 and was in charge of international marketing until April 2006 when he was assigned to lead Business Development for Kyowa Hakko USA. He had extensive international business experience, having lived in Canada and Republic of South Africa, as well as the U.S. He had profound knowledge of nutrition and cosmetics and worked on many key programs and brands at Kyowa Hakko USA including, Sustamine, Lumistor, Setria, Cognizin, Hydrafend and SoyScience. Mr. Sugimura was an avid and accomplished athlete, as well as a trusted colleague and friend.
